William Commin was born about 1880.

He married Mary Alice Tarr on 10 Jan 1910. Mary Alice was the daughter of James Henry Tarr and Martha Ann Purdon. She was born on 11 May 1885 at Cathcart, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She died on 22 Feb 1946 at the age of 60.

They had one child: Doris Marjorie Commin.
