She was the daughter of Peter Diack and Jane Wright Emslie.

She married Robert Thow Diack on 23 Aug 1929 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA. Robert Thow was the son of James Adam Diack and Margaret Hunter. He was born on 31 Oct 1896 at Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He died on 28 Nov 1943 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, USA at the age of 47.
