He married Anne Diack. Anne was the daughter of James Diack and Ann Elspet Robertson. She was born on 16 Jun 1826 at New Rayne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She died on 11 Jun 1870 at Mains of Warthill, Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the age of 43.
