She was the daughter of James Cooper and Isabel Anderson.

She married James Diack on 11 Nov 1848 at St. Nicholas Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. James was the son of James Diack and Ann Elspet Robertson. He was born on 28 Sep 1824 at New Rayne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He died on 3 Jun 1880 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the age of 55.

They had 8 children: Margaret Diack, James Diack, Mary Ann Diack, Alfred Diack, Williamina Diack, Robert Diack, Ann Diack and Alexander Diack.
