Leonard Cape was born in 1798.

He was the son of William Cape and Ann Clarke.

He married Maria Dobson on 5 Feb 1823 at Saint Mary, Kingston Upon Hull, York, England. She was born about 1805 at Hull, Yorkshire (East Riding), England. She died on 11 Apr 1873 at Sculcoates Yorkshire England.

He died on 27 Jul 1843 at Quebec, Canada.
