She married Walter Palmer Brookshaw on 23 Sep 1944 at Senekal, Free State, South Africa. Walter Palmer was the son of Walter Palmer Brookshaw and Dinah Maria Steyn. He was born on 17 Feb 1904. He died on 12 Mar 1964 at Clocolan, Orange Free State, South Africa at the age of 60.
