She married Hector George Seith Swales on 5 Aug 1939 at St John's, Belgravia, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. Hector George Seith was the son of Christopher George Swales and Louisa Kean. He was born on 3 Jul 1916 at Stamford Hill, Durban, Natal, South Africa. He died on 21 Nov 1941 at As Sallum, Matruh, Egypt at the age of 25.
