He married Jocelyn Margaret Moodie on 14 Aug 1937 at St John's Presbyterian Church, Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. Jocelyn Margaret was the daughter of William George Pigot Moodie and Nellie Crawford Cameron. She was born on 22 Apr 1917.
