Henry Barrett was born on 31 Jan 1841 at Harewood, Leeds, Yorkshire West Riding, England.
He was the son of William Barrett and Mary Rhodes.
He was christened on 9 Apr 1841 at Harewood, Leeds, Yorkshire West Riding, England.
He married Mary Wright on 27 Mar 1867 at Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal. She died in 1886.
They had 7 children: John Youle Barrett, Sarah Frances Barrett, Mary Elizabeth Barrett, Henrietta Barrett, Charles Hugh Barrett, Alma May Barrett and Kate Ivy Barrett.
He married Helen Marian Webb on 19 Sep 1888 at Middelburg, Transvaal. She died in 1914.
They had 2 children: Leonard Henry Pollard Barrett and Ellen Victoria Barrett.
He died on 19 May 1918 at 348 Visagie Street, Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 77.
