He married Thurza Elizabeth Bull on 3 Apr 1873 at Holy Trinity, Cape Town, Cape Colony. She died on 13 Aug 1932 at Wandel Street, Cape Town, Cape, South Africa.

They had 4 children: Florence Maud Duke, Blanche Constance Duke, Allan Ralph Duke and Ralph Austus Pembrook Duke.
