He married Ursula Margarete Kenner on 31 May 1774 at Esslingen, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Ursula Margarete was the daughter of Johann Marx Kenner and Eva Rad.

They had one child: George Wilhelm Diehl.

He was recorded in the census in 1808.
