Louis Jacobus Christiaan Schoeman was born on 23 Nov 1923.

He married Muriel Dunbar Low on 8 Jan 1949 at Presbyterian Church, Germiston, Transvaal, South Africa. Muriel Dunbar was the daughter of John Hill Low and Lisette (Etta) Lavendar Dunbar Anderson. She was born on 29 May 1929 at Boksburg, Transvaal. She died on 31 Dec 1995 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 66.

They had 2 children: Louis James Dunbar Schoeman and Rosemary Louise Schoeman.

He died on 8 Jan 2009 at Springs, Gauteng, South Africa at the age of 85.
