He married Dorothea Georgina Glaeser on 5 Feb 1889 at St Andrews, Tulbagh, Cape Colony. Dorothea Georgina was the daughter of John Christian Glaeser and Elizabeth Catherina Vos. She was born on 22 Jun 1859 at Tulbagh, Cape Of Good Hope, South Africa. She died on 25 Jun 1952 at Millhaven, Ceres, Cape, South Africa at the age of 93.
