He married Christian Troup on 27 Feb 1862 at Coull, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Christian was the daughter of Alexander Troup and Christian Ferries. She was born on 29 Nov 1836 at Coull, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She died on 22 Jul 1872 at Coull, Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the age of 35.
