Biography

Deiderich Heinrich Fraenkel was born on 9 Feb 1811 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope.

He was the son of Siegfried Fraenkel and Johanna Catharina Henckes.

He married Dorothea Klasina Glaeser on 10 May 1839 at Worcester, Cape, South Africa. Dorothea Klasina was the daughter of George William Henry Glaeser and Dorothea Catharina Cornelia van Dyk. She was born on 6 Jul 1818. She died on 13 Jun 1864 at Worcester, Cape, South Africa at the age of 45.

They had 8 children: Dorothea Johanna Georgina Fraenkel, Johanna Magdalena Maria Fraenkel, Siegfried George Frederich Fraenkel, Louisa Mathilda Fraenkel, George William Henry Fraenkel, Theodore Frederich Fraenkel, John Marius Fraenkel and Heinrich Siegfried Fraenkel.

He died on 31 Dec 1861 at Worcester, Cape, South Africa at the age of 50.
