He married Gertrude Sybil Raine. Gertrude Sybil was the daughter of Robert Arthur Raine and Sarah Johanna Siebert DeJager. She was born on 24 Jan 1941 at Vrede, Free State, South Africa. She died on 9 May 2004 at Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa at the age of 63.

They had one child: Living.
