He married Eliza Ellen Goulden on 19 Jul 1914 at Durban, Natal, South Africa. Eliza Ellen was the daughter of Alfred Methley Goulden and Mary Elizabeth Whipp. She was born on 15 Mar 1855. She died on 14 Feb 1922 at Addington Hospital, Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 66.
