He married Aletta Gertruida Catharina De Beer. Aletta Gertruida Catharina was the daughter of Barend Johannes de Beer and Aletta Gertruida Catharina van Staden. She was born on 22 Apr 1932 at Ventersdorp, Transvaal, South Africa. She died on 18 Sep 2005 at Leeudoringstad, Wolmaransstad, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 73.

They had 3 children: Annalise Susanna Meintjes, Living and Living.

He died on 29 Oct 1999 at the age of 68.
