He married Isabella Ross on 18 Feb 1820 at Kilmuir-Easter, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. Isabella was the daughter of Alexander Ross and Helen Munro. She was born in 1795 at Logie Easter, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. She died after 1871 at Milntown, Kilmuir-Easter, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.

They had 8 children: John Munro, Alexander Munro, Barbara Munro, Helen Munro, George Munro, Christy Munro, Alexander Munro and Christy Munro.
