He married Patricia Mary Lane on 17 Sep 1960 at Pinetown, Natal, South Africa. Patricia Mary was the daughter of Bertrand William Patrick Lane and Edna Mary Whipp. She was born on 17 Jun 1928. She died on 6 Apr 1991 at the age of 62.
