George Stewart Sim was born on 8 Aug 1892 at Ladysmith, Natal, South Africa.

He was the son of George Sim and Eliza Watt.

He married Muriel (Baby) Knowles on 22 Jun 1925 at Durban, Natal, South Africa. Muriel (Baby) was the daughter of Harold Gabriel Knowles and Helena Maria Glaeser. She was born on 25 Jan 1894 at Transvaal. She died on 26 Apr 1956 at Addington Hospital, Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 62.

They had 3 children: Myrtle Sim, Keith Sylwin Sim and Fay Sim.

He died on 27 Jun 1963 at Addington Hospital, Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 70.
