Biography

John Andrew Povall was born on 23 May 1905.

He was the son of Joseph James Povall and Eleanor Mary Low.

He married Sybil Mary Swift on 2 Oct 1930 at Howick, Natal, South Africa. Sybil Mary was the daughter of Arthur Benjamin Swift and Gertrude Sybil Newsum. She was born on 24 Jan 1908 at Clifton, Rotherham, Yorkshire, England. She died on 23 Jun 1999 at Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa at the age of 91.

They had 2 children: Michael John Povall and Robert Anthony Povall.

He married Maudi Rhoda Morice on 22 Jul 1950 at Durban, Natal, South Africa.

He died in Aug 1979.
