He married Caroline Robertson. Caroline was the daughter of Robert Thomas Robertson and Caroline. She was born on 5 Sep 1860. She died on 19 Jun 1892 at Sydenham, Durban, Colony of Natal at the age of 31.

They had 4 children: Thomas Robertson Wayne, Lilian Kate Wayne, Winifred Emily Wayne and Claude Anthony Wayne.

He married Jane Elizabeth Mackintosh.

They had one child: Doris McKintosh Wayne.
