Henry Brain was born about 1816.

He was the son of Joseph Brain and Mary Anna Wright.

He married Elizabeth Easton Gwyer on 21 Oct 1848 at St. Mary-Redcliffe Church, Bristol, Gloucester, England. Elizabeth Easton was the daughter of Henry Wyndham Gwyer and Elizabeth Bryant. She died between Jul and Sep 1907.

They had 4 children: Violet Brain, Ada Elizabeth Brain, Henry Brain and Ernest Adrian Brain.
