Hazel Ida Lilian Boast was born on 26 Aug 1900.

She was the daughter of Arthur Boast and Caroline Jane Fysh.

She married John Spencer Drake on 6 Sep 1941 at St John's Church, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa. John Spencer was the son of Francis Henry Drake and Agnes Jessie Treleven Munro. He was born on 18 Aug 1903. He died on 2 Apr 1960 at Johannesburg, South Africa at the age of 56.

They had one child: Living.

She died in Mar 1978.
