He married Alice Maud Mary Drake on 14 Dec 1898 at Wesleyan Church, Richmond, Natal, South Africa. Alice Maud Mary was the daughter of Spencer French Drake and Emma Eliza Gillitt. She was born on 8 Nov 1861 at Sarnia, Pinetown, South Africa. She died on 19 May 1899 at Richmond, Natal, South Africa at the age of 37.
