Biography

He married Emma Drake on 13 Jun 1881 at Richmond, Natal, South Africa. Emma was the daughter of Spencer French Drake and Emma Eliza Gillitt. She was born on 29 Dec 1853. She died on 28 Jun 1921 at 29 Tenth Avenue, Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 67.

They had 6 children: Coral Natalie Agnes Cartwright, Leonard Cartwright, Ida Sabrina Evelyn Cartwright, Walter Drake Cartwright, Irene Kate Cartwright and Vernon Francis Cartwright.
