Biography

Charles Dacomb was born in Feb 1828.

He was the son of William Dacomb and Ann.

He immigrated from London to Durban on 2 May 1850 aboard Edward (Barque).

He married Mary Ann Cooke on 16 Sep 1856 at Byrne, Colony of Natal. Mary Ann was the daughter of William Henry Cooke and Mary Ann. She was born on 25 Aug 1836 at Southampton, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom. She died on 5 May 1908 at Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 71.

They had 10 children: Charles William Dacomb, Henry Frank Dacomb, Elizabeth Lydia Dacomb, Caroline Maria Dacomb, Alice Frances Dacomb, Mary Ann Emma Dacomb, Leonard Sidney Dacomb, Emily Florence Dacomb, Alfred Edmund Dacomb and Arthur Dacomb.

He died on 18 Dec 1911 at 24 Ridge Road, Berea Durban, Natal, South Africa.

He was buried in 1911 at St Thomas Churchyard, Ridge Road, Durban, Natal, South Africa.
