He married Magdalena Catharina de Kock on 2 Jan 1820 at Caledon, Cape Colony. Magdalena Catharina was the daughter of Servaas Daniel de Kock and Sara Susanna le Roux.

They had 2 children: Servaas Daniel de Wet and Andries Johannes Stephanus de Wet.
