Petrus Wilhelmus Fredericus Nicolaas (Peter) van Thiel was born on 10 Sep 1935 at Holland.

He married Lynn Clendinning. Lynn was the daughter of Thomas Gibson (Gibby) Clendinning and Phyllis Ada Schwegmann. She was born on 25 Aug 1940. She died on 29 Aug 2006 at Plumstead, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa at the age of 66.

They had 2 children: Living and Living.

He died on 3 Feb 2025 at the age of 89.
