He married Wilhelmina Elizabeth Glaeser on 11 Jun 1906 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope. Wilhelmina Elizabeth was the daughter of Louis Philip Glaeser and Maria Jacoba Hablutzel. She was born on 4 Aug 1883. She died on 24 Nov 1947 at Simonstown, Cape Province, South Africa at the age of 64.

They had 4 children: Ivy Hablutzel, Rubina Rykie Hablutzel, Maria Magdalena Jacoba Hablutzel and Heinrich Pieter Hablutzel.

He died on 28 Feb 1942.
