Alexander Morison was born on 11 Jun 1828 at St. Nicholas Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

He was the son of William Morison and Ann Falconer.

He married Jane Forbes on 25 Apr 1856 at Old Machar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Jane was the daughter of John Forbes and Barbara McNeil. She was born in 1835 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

They had 7 children: Barbara Morison McNeil, Charles Morison, Jane Morison, John Morison, Eliza Mathieson Morison, Margaret Morison and Mary A Morison.

He died on 1 Dec 1900 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the age of 72.
